Chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream, covered in chocolate fondant - my kitchen smelt like a chocolate factory! Filled with shop-bought sweets, hand crafted fondant key and map, shells made from fondant pressed into a mould. Sand soft brown sugar. I was a bit nervous as I'm not very experienced, but my friend was very happy with the result..thank goodness!
This is only my third cake, so I was quite pleased. My only disappointment was that I'd done a lovely bookworm but it got tainted with black sugarpaste (it seems to get everywhere!) so I didn't use it.
