The vintage theme chosen for this baby shower was so fun! I found a cute little vintage flyer trike ornament that I used for a cake topper and then used frosting paper to print a vintage shabby chic style flag bunting. I hung this on a fondant rope around the cake. The red cake stand was the perfect addition to this adorable little cake, don't you think? This is one of my favorites cakes ever. =)
This cake has rustic spackled buttercream and buttercream roses. A super easy way to make a cake look so gorgeous! Because the buttercream roses don't need a lot of extra decoration...I usually keep flowers away from the tiers I decorate with them. But the spackled buttercream layers balance out those buttercream roses nicely and fresh flowers as a cake topper are always beautiful.
My most favorite seasonal cake to make! There is nothing as gorgeous as ripe berries and billowy cream cheese buttercream! This cake looks darling every single time I make it. =)
This bride provided me with a photo she found on Pinterest...I traced the original design to the Sweet and Saucy cake shop in California. I used that photo as my inspiration to create this rustic buttercream cake. I striped the crusted buttercream with gold edible paint and then added a crown of fresh organic raspberries. The raspberries on the top tier were dusted with gold lustre dust.
This couple's first date was to see the "Sound of Music" when it came out. I thought it would be sweet to add some fondant edelweiss flowers to their cake. I also added an original wedding photo, printed on frosting paper, as well as a photo of them now (You can't see that one in this photo.).
The flowers on this cake remind me of butterflies...which was perfect for her garden themed reception hall. I used a edging tool to stripe the buttercream frosting on the four tiers and added buttercream pearls on site.
This bride wanted a chocolate wedding cake. I love how this turned out! So unusual, and so pretty! I used chilled chocolate ganache to spackle frost the three tiers and then piped ganache pearl borders on the cakes after assembling on site.
This is the first time I have worked with fondant and the birch tree effect. This bride wanted a cake to compliment the wood burned sign her grandfather had made her. I am pleased at how this first attempt turned out!
Our local bike shop celebrated their annual fall community bike ride by introducing their new logo with this cake. I hand stenciled the design onto the cake and then piped buttercream frosting to fill it in. TOTAL PAIN...but so worth it! This ended up being the hit of the gathering!
This wedding cake was for the week after Christmas. I love how the scrollwork and red buttercream pearls look with the Christmas pines and poinsettias they used for decoration.
