2 layer Vanilla cake with leopard spots inside made of caramel machiatto coffee cake dipped in chocolate cake batter. The coffee mug and plate are both covered in buttercream frosting. On the mug I was trying the "viva paper towel" technique and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I also was trying the brushed embroidery technique, which I like, but I just need more practice. The handle was made from gumpaste and the steam was made from fondant. The inside leopard spots definitely need to be smaller next time with more chocolate.
This was a cake I made for my little sister. My 2 year old adughter saw the funfetti cake mix box and picked it out. I made a lemon icing to go with it. It tasted like fruit loops! Covered in yellow and black fondant with fondant stars, sugar sheet letters and gumpaste stars on the wires.
