Word World Meets Thomas The Train
Made for a friend's little boy turning 2 years old. He loves Word World and Thomas the Train. The "train" is actually wooden blocks. The cake is frosted with classic buttercream. The Word World items are made with marshmallow treats covered in fondant. Trees, lettering and numbers also made with fondant. The dirt is crushed ginger snaps with a thin layer of frosting on the bottom to hold the "dirt" in place.

Pink Baby Shower Cake
This was a last-minute cake request from a family member, so it was a quick and dirty design. My husband had the idea for a neapolitan cake which was a big hit. The bow is made from fondant using a lace imprint design and dusted with edible glitter. (Thank you CC for the wonderful tutorial on making bows!). The baby foot is also from fondant using a mold, in a brighter pink. The family doesn't like fondant covered cakes, and preferred buttercream which isn't a problem. (It's hot outside and the cake did settle a little overnight so the square, clean cake became a bit lopsided.)

Hat Box Cake
I made this for a friend's mom who was turning 100 years old! It's a hat-box, filled with sugar paste flowers and a string of pearls (made from sugar paste). The lipstick, makeup compact, coin purse and handkerchief are made from fondant and sugar paste. The top of the box is rice treats covered in fondant. The bottom is cake, covered in fondant, with a fondant rope handle.

Peacock Themed Wedding
For my niece's small wedding with a peacock theme. The top round wedding cake was frosted in basic buttercream and a classic french vanilla cake. The white cupcakes were pink lemonade cupcake with lemon buttercream frosting. The blue cupcakes are "grandma's chocolate cake" with buttercream frosting.

Flight Crew Wedding
Made for a pilot and flight attendant friends. The bottom cake is a "roller board" suitcase. The top contains all the items of a traditional wedding made from sugar paste or rolled fondant. The cork on the bottom is made of marzipan. This was my second attempt with sugar paste flowers. The only thing not edible is the garter, tuille and plastic wine glasses.
