Here is a 4 tiered wonky we made last week, the cake was striped and each tier had a fancy edging, the cake was covered with 33 large sugar roses and laced with pearls, it was topped off by a pair of silver glittery glasses as the lady not only wore them but was also the owner of a chain of specsavers! it was finished off with a dusting of glitter and some stars :)...
I think this maybe on my favourite list for the year! skull cake made with almond cake and iced, all roses handmade from sugar and dusted, skull made with white chocolate (approx 2kg) coloured grey then dusted with a mix of both silver and black lustre, ribbon on board also got a dusting of black too! silver dragees (balls) made to look dirty and also like a chain :)
such huge cake it took such a long time to complete and was around 30kilos! the bride chose the scheme and colouing and the board was handmade by me too.
So this was the 1st cake this year, I loved making it and it consists of the lord of the rings book (handpainted), the shire and Mordor with Gollum with the ring, and Ork on Mordor, Frodo and Bilbo, strider, Legolas, Gandalf and Gimli. The cake was huge the pictures really don't so it justice!....

this cake was made for my cousin and i loved every part of it!
must be something about butterflies this season! the cake was a chocolate sponge covered in a fresh and fluffy buttercream and decorated with handmade butterflies :o)
a simle whit cake that was around 2-3ft tall, adorned with orchids pink roses and carnations
i was asked to make some cupcakes matching some from another cake artist.when i saw the picture i was soo excited what a fantastic idea!!
totally loved making this cake! orange flavoured rainbow sponge on the bottom layer, lemon rainbow in the middle tier and mint rainbow in the top tier. the board was handmade by me and all the tombstones and grass are edible. i then added some spooky red lights which looked fab with the smoke! i added the nightmare before christmas toppers to the skull and sat it on a nest of vines for an extra creepy look!
i love making these simple pretty cakes makes such a change from the funky shaped cakes!

a wonky cake inspired by lego - say no more!
handmade and painted cake board, bottom part of the rock are dummies the top part rich fruit cake then the middl part of the castle is cake including the top, the turrets are none edible an made of oasis and card. the covering is made from rich tea bikkies but they where passed through a seive to make them extra fine! the shells are real and the furniture is for a dolls house. the cake was about 2 and a half foot tall and weighed about 40lb. to top it all off we had to take it down a spiral staircase to the wedding reception room!
