Checkboard Engagement Celebration
240 small black and white squares created this checkboard pattern on this engagement cake. Fantasy flowers were made out of sugarpaste and given a shine with 50% vodka & 50% karo syrup. Bling ribbon gave this cake a "WOW" factor and was carried through to the center of the flowers.

Slot Machine Birthday Cake
This slot machine cake took a lot of pre planning because I had to make all the decorations out of sugarpaste (before I baked and iced the cake) and size them to an 8" square cake. Because it takes a few days for these sugarpaste decorations to dry, I would not have had the time to dry the decorations if I had iced the cake first. The top sign on the cake is modeled after the "Welcome To Las Vegas" sign in Las Vegas. The gold covered chocolate coins were purchased. If you look closely, you will see a gold covered coin in a slot next to the work "spin". The sides of the slot machine have a royal flush poker hand of cards and the back of the slot machine has two dice. I am very pleased with the outcome of this cake as this is the first time I have done a slot machine cake.

Sugar Beer Bottle Cake
This cake was quite the learning experience....but a lot of fun to make! Thank you to all fellow CC sugar artists for inspiration. Labels were saved from the real beer bottles and applied on the sugar beer bottles. Wooden tub was made out of marshmellow fondant. Isomalt was used for the ice cubes. 50/50 sugar/corn syrup was used for the beer bottles. I accidently burned the sugar (320 degrees) and realized it was the exact color I needed for the beer bottles.

Superman's Fortress Of Solitude Wedding Cake
This is a four tiered wedding cake made for a couple who met at a comic book store. They love action heros. Their request was Superman's Fortress of Solitude for a wedding cake. I designed this cake for them and they just loved it! This cake was covered in buttercream. The "icicles" are made out of white chocolate "candy melts". The base of the cake is an 18" X 18" X 5" styrofoam covered in "Superman Blue" sugarpaste trimmed in red. They wanted the Superman logo to be in a heart which was all made by hand using sugarpaste. Superman and Lois on the top of the cake were given to me by the bride and groom.

Panning For Gold
This cake was created for a man who loves to pan for gold and was turning 70. I was given photos of him, his girlfriend, and their trailer to reproduce for the cake. They were all made out of sugarpaste. Tree and bushes were rice krispie treats. The small rocks were made out marshmellow fondant. The large rocks were made out of rice krispie treats covered in marshmellow fondant. Fun cake to do, but lots and lots of work!

Round & Square Wedding Cake
I have made this wedding cake so many times in the past. However, this time, it looked completely different. It just goes to show you how much the background and lighting can do to make your wedding cake even more beautiful than before. The background set up of your wedding cake is so important for a beautiful photo.
