My niece wanted a Monsters High cake for her birthday this year. I had to go online to find out what that was. I got her a doll and browsed the internet until I found a few designs for cakes. This is actually a mash up of 6 different cake designs with a few of my ideas thrown in for good measure. All the girls at the party fell in love with the cake and the parents wanted me to make them cakes just like it, or similar for upcoming parties. Score!

My friend gave me a photo of a cake she wanted for her birthday. This is what it ended up looking like. Not exactly like the original, I only had a few hours to pull it together, but still, it was fun to make.
Falling Leaves I made this cake for a 98th birthday celebration for my favorite adopted Grandma. Fall is her favorite time of year and she often talked about how much she loved to collect and press fall leaves because they were so colorful. White cake with Butter Cream icing and Butter cream fondant. The leaves are made from gumpaste and branches are piped chocolate butter cream. Cake was filled with cream cheese cake filling.
An Apple A Day
Apples made from rice cereal treats, buttercream and fondant, had painted with gel food color and vodka. Loved by the kids
Fantasy Floral Wedding Cake
Dark Chocolate with Strawberry and Cheese Cake filling, this cake proved difficult to stack, ice and cover with pure white Strawberry flavored fondant. Flowers are a simple half folded ruffled circle made from tinted gumpaste. Finished with royal icing and silver luster dust with a few long stemmed apple blossoms
This is a Slimer cake requested by a very active 8 year old boy for his party. He wanted green slime, and the Ghostbusters characters on the cake. Not my best work, but the kids really enjoyed it. Odd how such a young child would know so much about a nearly 30 year old movie.
