30Th Birthday Cake
Girliest birthday cake ever? Possibly! This is a two layer cake, chocolate on the bottom, strawberries and cream on the top. Everything is fondant with the exception of the tiara (gumpaste). I wish the shoe wasn't blocked by the dog, because that thing is bada$$... and took me FOREVER to figure out how to do. This picture shows it still in the drying process with clingwrap inside it to help keep its shape. The clingwrap was removed the next day. I must say... I do love this cake!

What Could Be Better For A Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Than A Strawberry Cake With Strawberry Frosting This Is A 2 Layer 10 Cake With M
What could be better for a Strawberry Shortcake birthday than a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting? This is a 2 layer 10" cake with MMF. (I had issues with sagging due to the weight of the decorations on top... should have put supports in). Strawberry Shortcake, and her house, and the small present are all made of fondant covered rice crispy treats. The rainbow in fondant over cardboard. This was a very sweet cake for a very sweet girl.

Zach & Aubrey G's Wedding Reception Cake
This is a simple two layer yellow cake with chocolate fudge frosting, covered in fontant. The bride & groom figurines are hand sculpted out of rice crispy treats, covered in fondant, and hand painted. The flowers are all fondant. This was a sweet little cake made to go on top of a cupcake tower for a sweet young couple that got married out of town, and wanted an in-town reception for their friends. I am by no means a pro, and this was only my sescond attempt at making figurines. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Gluten Free/dairy Free/egg Free Tonka Dump Truck Birthday Cake
This is a cake I recently made for a little boy that suffers from a ton of food allergies. The cake needed to be gluten free, dairy free, and egg free. It was a challenge! But I ended up with a cake that looked and tasted great. The truck is made of vanilla GF/DF cake, there is a crumb coat of DF vanilla frosting, and fondant. The tires are fondant covered vegan rice crispy treats, and the bed of the truck is filled with GF/DF/EF Snickerdoodle cookies. The truck is all hand painted, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I also made 5 dozen regular cupcakes for this party, which you can just catch a glimpse of in the background. They each had a hand painted fondant topper to match the theme of the party.

"garden Girl" Birthday Cake
I make this cake for the 1st birthday of my friend's daughter. It is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting covered in fondant. The elements on top of the cake are all made from gumpaste... some are suspended on wires. I had a lot of fun making this cake, and am very happy with how it turned out.

"garden Girl" Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my friend's daughter's 1st birthday. The theme of the party was "Garden Girl" based on the "Garden Girl" decorations found at partycity.com. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, covered in fondant. The elements on top of the cake are all made from gumpaste. The only inedible element are the wires suspending the bugs above the cake. I think it came out so cute!

Lifepointe Grand Opening Cake
This is a cake I made for my church to celebrate its Grand Opening in a brand new building. The lower half of the cake is fondant covered styrofoam, both to save on materials and so that I could make it up ahead of time, as the Grand opening came at the end of a VERY busy week. The upper half is 6 layers of fondant covered yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The roof is chocolate frosting with a tile pattern pressed in. The very front steeple is made of fondant covered RCT's. The figures are all sculpted fondant, the ladder is made of painted styrofoam since I didn't have enough time for my fondant one to dry. I am very happy with how the cake turned out. It is the largest cake I've ever done as it had to feed a great many people... and since I am still an amateur it involved a LOT of learning as I went along. Of course I look at it and see a dozen things I wish I'd done differently if I'd had more time... but overall I think it turned out great and the church was extrememly happy with it. :)
