I made this cake for my son's 6th birthday. It includes all the Planets (and Pluto and the earth's moon) in order of their proximity to the sun. Starts with Pluto (the tiny dot on the far right and goes to all the way to Mercury. And of course the Sun is on top. This was a chocolate mousse cake iced with black buttercream. All accents done with fondant.

14", 12", 8" and 6" white almond with buttercream icing. Fondant stripes and silk flowers. I loved the all the color, although I think I may have put too many flowers on. Perhaps tapering a little at the top would have been better. Thanks to cakesbyjess for the inspiration!
Fondant poodle and name, everything else is buttercream over white almond cake. For a friend's one year old daughter. I think it turned out quite nicely.
For a 40th birthday! Buttercream iced, fondant road, laminated signs. A topper was put on, but I didn't get a picture. It was a huge hit. Thanks to CC for the inspiration, especially lborrn2!
Thanks to cookinqueen for the design on this one. My first time making fondant figures. I wasn't happy with the bow (only 2nd one of those and the last one was 5 years ago!), but overall I thought this cake turned out so cute. I really love the funky letter cutters from GSA!
My first Christmas log. I wasn't totally happy with the placement of the "knot', but overall thought this turned out great...especially for a first attempt. The meringue mushrooms were fun to make!
Cute little Christmas cake I threw together. Royal icing poinsettias. I piped carol names on the side. I realized later I had some red icing in the fridge I could have used to make it "pop" a little more, but I think it turned out nice and festive anyway. I gave it away and the recipients were thrilled. :)
This cake was very nearly a disaster! First I had to re-ice the whole thing because it turned out too ivory. Then the top layer of the bottom tier slide during transport and I wasn't sure I would be able to fix it! Fortunately, the lighting in the reception room was not good and it helped conceal the damage. No one even noticed and the bride and groom were totally thrilled with the appearance and taste. What a relief!
My first time doing a monogram. What a pain! I think this cake would have looked gorgeous with some red roses on top, but I really hoe it turned out anyway.
I've done several of these. Apparently the Steelers are huge in this area. Who knew. Anyway, I'm getting better at making the logo look right.
Just a little 6" cake for a 60th birthday. She loves pink roses. Fondant accents and gumpaste numbers painted in luster dust. I love how it turned out!

I made this cake for my church, as we're kicking off a six week study of this book. All buttercream except the fondant roads and the plastic car. The writing on the back was 14 chapter titles from the book. Cakes are 10", 8" and 6". I was SO happy with how this turned out!
12x18 sheet with 8x8 on top. All buttercream. Done to match the party decorations.
