Here is my second attempt at a 21st birthday cake.
I have always made cupcakes with Stork, and recently when I visited a decorators shop she mentioned to use 'Willow' so I took the ladies advise and this is how they turned out. Best cuttercream mix i have ever used.
I made this cake for my aunties birthday. I seen a cake i really liked that was 3 tier, but for a first time im not wary of tiered cakes. So i decided to make my own version. and this is what i come up with. Next I am going to try a tiered cake with the river flowing down the tiers. If anyone has any tips please comment as all your tips will help me alot. I have not been to any classes, so all my cakes i learn by myself.
I made this cake for my Best friends 21st birthday as a last minute thing. Didn't have a clue what i was doing, so i am very impressed. The fondant cracked in corners but i managed to hide them with the blue trim. To make this cake i printed out a number log, which showed me in what ways to cut a cake to make a number, it said to use 6" round 6" square and a loaf tin. But i didnt have 6" so i used a 8" round and 9" square this covered for both cakes. I covered it all with butter cream and then put fondant on top. I now have a another 21st birthday cake to make but will use a larger cake board as they seem abit close. I will update my newest version soon.
