Dogwood Wedding Cake
Chocolate cake with hazelnut filling. All decorations are made by hand. I got there in the nick of time (got stuck in traffic, GPS got me lost, Murphy's Law kicked in big time) and managed to slap some branches and flowers on in about 10 minutes! Whew! Lots of fun, but glad it's over!

Vcu Grad Cap Cake
I got the design inspiration from a card I found at Wal-Mart, the same place I got the topper (actually a table centerpiece). I wish I had gone a little heavier on the fondant on the bottom tier; it's not as smooth as it could have been. The grad loved it, and that's all I care about.

Monster Birthday Cake
Chocolate cake with cream cheese filling, covered in marshmallow fondant. I also used modeling chocolate and some royal icing. Later on I decided it needed blood, so I added some red food coloring to piping gel and splattered it everywhere! This was so much fun, and the birthday girl (a roller derby girl whose alias is Mizz Monstah) loved it!

Star Wars Yoda Cake
Yoda was originally done with color flow (like the Star Wars logo at the bottom), but I put it in the freezer... big mistake! Apparently that makes royal icing melt. Oops. So I spent about an hour transferring and filling in the pattern in buttercream. The birthday boy loved it!! Chocolate cake with vanilla filling.
