Inspired by sweetpeacakemom's petal effect cake, I made this cake for a friend's little girl. It's a strawberry wasc cake with buttercream and fondant decos. I used a #10 tip to make the petals. Thanks for the inspiration!! It got rave reviews and brought a big smile to her face!!
I baked a white 12 inch cake. iced in buttercream. Fondant pieces made the olives, peppers, onions. Pepperoni are made of organic fruit slices from Target. The "cheese" is grated white chocolate, which had to be grated right on the cake. I found otherwise it crumbled. Then I burned it to give it the baked look with a torch.
I baked the Wilton Elmo cake pan in chocolate and placed it on a white 12X18 cake. Icing is buttercream with fondant details.
All decos are made out of fondant/gumpaste mixture. Icing is buttercream..
This cake was a chocolate cake 12X18 with a classic buttercream icing.
