I did this cake for my Aunt's 94th Birthday who is a chocoholic. The cake is chocolate with a chocolate ganache filling, chocolate and yellow buttercream and modeling chocolate roses.
This was for a friends surprise shower and my first attempt and doing any cake carving. To get more roundness to the top of the bassinette I used 1/2 of the sports ball pan and then carved it down to fit. The blanket and pillow are modeling chocolate decorated with icing.
I did this for a friends birthday since she loves to play poker and was headed on vacation to Las Vegas. I'm not a fan of fondant so I star tipped the buttercream in red and black and then make chocolate hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades
This was the request of my granddaughter for her 6th birthday. It's a 4 layer cake 2 of vanilla and 2 chocolate with a Carmel Butter cream between the layers. I created Grandmother Willow out of modeling chocolate then wrapped her to a styrofoam base covered with stiff buttercream.
