My design was inspired by Purnima Abeyratne Inspirations, a designer for Sri Lanka Brides. The lace and designs in each tier are fondant then piped with royal icing and embellished with rhinestones. I wanted to capture the beautiful embellished designs of the bride’s saree and incorporate a hint of the jewelry adorning her head.

I was asked and honored to have been part of this amazing collaboration featuring amazing sugar artist from around the globe lead by Rebekah Naomi Wilbur inspired by Avant Garde. My piece was inspired by Avant makeup and hair. It is a gravity defying cake consisting of 3 different size domes which are actual cake. The texture on the ruffles was created with a blend of sugars mixed with edible paint to resemble sparkling glitter and sequence. The swirls scaling down are wafer paper. Made this cake for an event last weekend, LA Cookie Con & Sweets Show 2016. I entered into the Wedding Category and to my surprise placed 1st and was presented with a trophy by Ron Ben-Israel. I also had the pleasure of meeting Duff which left me in aww lol. The show was a great experience and it also benefited The Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. For this cake my techniques were royal icing hand piped beading with fondant / gumpaste flowers and decor.
For this cake, I combined traditional techniques with a modern design aesthetic incorporating hand piped, royal icing details with a modern, bold color palette and stylized flowers.
Inspired by a bridal brooch bouquet. I created my own molds then detailed the stones with edible pastel metallic colors and incorporated some crystals to simulate the brooches in a more realistic fashion.
Made this cake using several different techniques I’ve been wanting to try. The bottom tier is royal icing stenciling then painted with edible antique gold paint. The snowflakes are filigree quilling wafer paper. I made my own mold for the reindeer and my topper is royal icing with fondant.

I have found a new and exciting way to use jeweled ribbon. I have created several designs and this is one display of many more to come. I wanted to create the perfect cake for this design and it fits in perfect for Valentine’s Day. I have named my designs after my granddaughter. Arielle Jade’s Jeweled Ribbon Designs.
Inspired by the Andalusian style gardens of Old Spain. Fountain is fondant/gum paste, water is isomalt. Terracotta tiles are fondant and flowers are wired.
The cake is a 4 tier chocolate and vanilla cake with creme bouquet buttercream and chocolate ganache filling. The cupcakes were vanilla with fondant toppers, flowers and edible pearls.

I made this cake for my granddaughter's 1st Birthday. The tree is 20" tall and the top of the tree was made with an 8" half circle and 2 - 6" half circle cakes. The length was 16". All of the figures are made with fondant.
This cake was inspired by an Oscar Carvallo dress for Cake Central Magazine.
This cake was made for a special couple. The cake is a 6" double barrel covered in white chocolate ganache. I decided to paint my naked ganached cake instead of covering it in fondant so I added some texture and gave it a birch wood tree effect with edible paint. I also wanted to do something fun and non-traditional so I carved “she said yes” on the tree instead of their initials since the topper already had them. I thought would be a nice touch with the beautiful topper provided by my client. The flowers are fondant cabbage roses & hydrangeas. Also, there were 50 tiny mini cakes for their guests, key lime pie and pumpkin spice.
The first tier is a vanilla rainbow cake w/buttercream 8 x 5 and the lower tier is a 10 x 7 rainbow white chocolate cake with buttercream. Sofia is sculpted out of fondant.
This cake was made for my niece. She loved the movie The Fault in Our Stars and wanted her cake based on it. There is a panel on each side of the cake that represents a scene, the gondola ride, the swing set, dinner and one where they are going up the stairs. I have never seen the movie and was not familiar with it so I made the images to represent what she described. All items are made of fondant.
Top layer is pineapple with coconut frosting. Second layer is chocolate with raspberry and whipped chocolate ganache frosting.
Air brushed and hand painted. The bottom Autumn Sunflower is made with fondant.
