This is a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. The cake is covered with fondant and sanding sugar.
I got this cake idea from Darla from bakingdom.com. Her's is much prettier. The cake is eggnog cake with eggnog buttercream, all made with homemade eggnog.
Gray And Orange 5" Birthday Cake
Gray and orange 5" birthday cake. Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting (hence the reason I didn't get those sharp edges I like so much).
Pink And Black Two Tiered Ombre Ruffle Cake.
I made this cake for my best friend's 40th birthday. The entire party theme was pink and black.
Fall Colored Cupcakes
These are pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese icing and a fondant decoration on top. They disappeared quickly, so they must have tasted yummy!
Winnie The Pooh Camo Cake
This was for a friend's 8 year old son who LOVES Pooh. It was a strange request and I wasn't sure how it would turn out. It should probably go under cake disasters because the cake should have been camo but it looked more like marble (first time trying camo). I'm not thrilled with the finished product at all but she loved it and her son went crazy for it.
Nautical Themed Cake
Huge challenge for me. I used a beach bag as my inspiration for this cake. First time using fondant on ganache - I will never go back to buttercream. Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache covered in fondant. The details on the top of the cake are done with modeling chocolate (my first time ever using this too!).
The rooster showed in the second picture was my inspiration for this cake design. Red velvet cake with white chocolate ganache, covered in fondant.
Baby Boy (My Grandson, Actually) Shower Cake
This is a cake I made for my daughter's baby shower. I wasn't happy with it at all, but she loved it. Bottom tier is pumpkin spice and the top tier was amaretto cream cake with cinnamon swirl and cinnamon buttercream. She loved it. :o)
This Is My Second Fondant Cake - Two Tiers.
This was a 30th birthday cake for a friend and only my second fondant cake I ever made. I didn't even know how to stack tiers so the 2nd tier is just plopped onto the first tier with nothing to support it (no straws, dowels, or anything).
My First Ever Fondant Cake!
This is the first fondant cake I ever made. It was a birthday cake for my boss whose birthday is on the 4th of July. After I made this cake, he asked me to make his wedding topper cake (he ordered Georgetown cupcakes instead of a wedding cake) and I promptly pooped my pants. :o) I did end up doing his wedding topper cake and almost had a heart attack delivering it into downtown DC.
Redskins Girl Birthday Cake
This is a cake I did for my best friend. She's a huge redskins fans. Wish I'd taken a photo with a camera other than my bberry camera.
16Th Birthday Cake
This was for a 16th year old girl whose favorite color is teal and she LOVES zebra pattern.
Twin Birthday Cakes!
Although not identical twins. The person wanted two cakes for an 80th birthday cake. I tried hard to convince them how much prettier and cleaner the fondant would be, but in the end, they insisted on no fondant, except for the decoration on top. One is coconut cream cake with coconut buttercream and lemon filling, the other one is carrot cake with white chocolate orange cream cheese frosting. Can you guess which cake has the cream cheese frosting (It's 105 degrees here today)
Coconut Cream Cake
This was cake one of "twin cakes" for a 80th birthday party. I tried hard to convince them to do fondant, but they insisted they wanted the shredded coconut.
My Daughter's Wedding Cake. :o)
This was a labor of love. I was on the hook for making her wedding cake, doing the flowers AND doing a candy buffet. Talk about stressed!!!!
