My First Wedding Cake
This WASC cake had a 12 inch bottom and a 10 inch top and was done as a wedding gift for a friend's son. It was decorated with edible pearls and 2 layers of ribbon. The Brides family provided the Yellow Gerbera Daisies. I wished they had been white or blue. But, when I saw table with the yellow table cloth I knew it would be alright. This cake made me think a cake dummy layer is a great idea when there is no plan to serve the cake. The cake served as a decoration, was cut for a picture and then left to be divided up after the reception. Sort of sad.

Diamond Quilted Practice Cake (Mat)
This was my first attempt at diamond quilting. I used a quilting mat to make light lines in the fondant. Then I used the flat square back of the blade (not the sharp side) my paring knife to emboss deeper lines. Then I used a dowel to make button tucks. This was a fun practice cake.
