100Th Birthday Film Reel Cake
We made this cake for my Great Grandma's 100th birthday on June 17th. It is film reels with pictures of Grandma from the time she was a few months old until the very top picture which was taken of her the day before her birthday. The images were printed at Walmart on their edible image printer and stuck to the cake. We held the layers together with one main support pole going through the center and then cardboard for the top and bottom of each cake with dowels to support them from falling down. The cake was funfetti white flavored with buttercream frosting and covered in fondant. We were super excited that our cake even made the local paper! Woohoo!

African Elephant Cake
My mom and I had a blast making this cake together! The cake was chocolate with cream cheese frosting and covered in homemade fondant. Some parts are also rice crispy treats (the head and legs). Shadowing done in edible petal dust. The eyes are made with fondant and food coloring. The trunk and tusks and ears are fondant with some gum-tex mixed in to make them a little more stiff.

99Th Birthday Sewing Cake
Everything on the cake is either cake, frosting, fondant, pastillage, gumpaste, molding chocolate or a mixture of them. 100% edible except for the cake boards! It was my mom and I's first attempt at making any of these items. We have worked with the materials before but never to this extent. It was fun!
