A 3-D lipstick cake for a surprise 21st birthday. The cake was about 20" long, and it is hard to tell from this photo but the red lipstick was glossy. Not the greatest photo.

The order was for a cake that wasn't too babyish with a mother-to-bee theme. I came up with this design. Everything is edible (except the wires on the flying bees). Lemon cake with lemon buttercream inside. The gumpaste blue pacifier is because the baby is a boy.

Yellow Rose Cake
Inspired by a photo sent to me by the bride, source unknown. The flowers on the table are the bouquets from the bridal party; the flowers on the cake are sugar. I'm pleased with how it held up considering it was an outdoor wedding and it was about 90 degrees today. No refrigeration either.

My Little Pony - Princess Celestia
I was asked to make a custom version of My LIttle Pony's Princess Celestia character on top of the cake with images of several other ponies around the sides of the cake. This version had to be turquoise with pink and white hair, with a cotton candy "brand" on the hind quarters. The birthday girl was thrilled and named every pony.

Hunger Games
The photo doesn't do justice to the gold paint, which really sparkled. The front wing comes up off the cake and it is hard to see that too due to the lighting. I took this photo before putting the cake on its board for delivery, and then forgot to take another photo after putting it on the board, which said "Happy Birthday Michael. May the odds be ever in your favor" in the same font that is on the cover of the Hunger Games book. Grrr...

Cake For A Chic Dress Designer
This cake was a surprise for a woman who designs and sews (and wears) very chic and trendy clothes. The dress on the dressmaker's form is a copy of one of her actual designs, complete with draping in the front and bold, gold sequins across the back (you can see a bit of the sequins in this angled photo). I added a pair of platform shoes to match. A few details - the thimble, scissors and golden needle with blue thread which wraps around the top tier - represent the sewing she does, but in a clean, modern way that matches her style. I love the back of the dress/cake. TFL.

Sweet 16
I made this for a friend's daughter. She requested red velvet with cream cheese frosting. I made a modeling chocolate iphone (her gift from her parents) and car keys (in honor of her learner's permit) to place on the cake stand. The pink color didn't photograph well; it looks a little orange in the photo, but it was bright pink. I blurred out the background as it wasn't very attractive. Need to work on getting better photos!
