David Kracov's butterfly sculpture is so beautiful that I wanted to try a sugar version of it. It wasn't easy because I didn't want any internal structure or wires. It is 40 cm high and made of mexican paste. The other challenge was creating shapes to support the paste during the drying process but I loved it.

Another almond rum cake (I know, it's my favorite because it travels well and I can even send some of these cakes by mail), covered with almond paste and sugar paste. All the details are made from gumpaste and painted with food colorings.
