Kung Fu Panda Cake (Front)
My husband and I worked on this cake together; actually, he did most of the work. This was our third cake and I was a little worried when my friend said she wanted a kung fu panda topper. I'll know better next time; H really enjoys sculpting and he's more comfortable working with fondant now that he's done a few. Making and coloring some of the fondant was my only contribution; the 8" square is styrofoam.

Soccer Cookies
I made 24 of these soccer cookies. They are NFSC with royal icing. I really wished I had a cookie press or some type of stencil. I didn't trust myself to freehand the design so I printed a picture of a soccer ball and traced it onto some wax paper. I then used a fondant tool to trace/press the lines into the 3.5" round pieces of dough that I had cut. Unfortunately, I could barely see the lines so I had to go back and use a toothpick to go over those lines, to make they would show up after baking. I was exhausted before I even started icing them! It was all worth it though because I happy with how they turned out.

Cars Birthday Cake
My husband and I worked on this cake together - this was our second cake with a fondant topper. He's really getting into the sculpting thing. The car is made of rice krispie treats covered in Wilton fondant. It was a 14" chocolate cake covered in buttercream. I was afraid to put the car directly on the buttercream so we covered a piece of cardboard with fondant and made garage tile.

Cupcake Bouquet
I made this cupcake bouquet to bring to church on Mother's Day. It was so fun to make. The only problem was that my buttercream got really soft and I was afraid the flowers were going to start sliding off the cupcakes. It was a 25 minute drive so I just kept the AC on full blast and rotated the pot the entire way. They made it!

Tiered Cake With Roses
This was my final cake for Wilton Course III. After this cake, I learned that fondant needs to be a little thicker or you can see through it. I actually dropped the cake on my way to class and then after when I was walking to my car. I had a faulty cake carrier but luckily the bottom part fell straight down (leaving me holding just the lid) so the cake didn't fall on the floor. Unfortunately the border still suffered some damage.
