This was my final project for the Flowers course and my first attempt at basket weave. Roses are 2 toned Royal Icing and the basket weave is chocolate buttercream.
First attempt at a laptop cake. I took this pic right after I finished decorating and I'm glad I did because my 3 year old woke up and tried to type on it, leaving little finger holes in the cake. LOL! The pic on the screen is of my husband playing in the backyard with the kids. I had it printed as an edible image.
Cake for my son's 3rd birthday. Cake is carved from 3 separate chocolate cakes, filled and covered in chocolate ganache and finally fondant.
Cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. Dress is strawberry cake with pink buttercream filling. Base cake is french vanilla cake with strawberry jam filling. Thank you for looking!
I made this to practice covering a cake with fondant. It was also the first time I made MMF. Once I covered it, I was kind of stumped on a design so I grabbed templates for the side, then felt saucy so I decided to try freehand scroll on top. I can't believe I just used the word "saucy". LOL!
