Cake made for a 14 year old. She drew a picture of what she wanted and I made it come to life :)
Bottom tier is chocolate pudding cake with my "Barely There Fudge" icing. The next 2 tiers were vanilla with butter cream. The cake has fondant accents. My favorite part was the floor of the carousel making it look like real wood. This one was a challenge because instead of taking the easy way out and covering in fondant I wanted to do the majority in butter cream. I think it turned out okay.
My niece plays with her big sister's Baby Sweetie Belle Pony all the time so the wanted a cake to reflect that. Vanilla cake with buttercream icing covered in fondant. Pony is rice cereal treats.
BF son spends hours on the game so he got his fav thing in this cake. Bottom is a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream icing. The controller is a chocolate cake with chocolate icing covered and decorated with fondant
Bday cake for BF. She told me things she liked and her pool is at the top of her list. She wanted me to suprise her-she was suprised! Dbl layer strawberry sheet cakes iced & filled with banana BC. Covered in banana flavored MMF. All details are made of fondant or gumpaste/fondant 50/50. Water is piping gel colored with blue gel color and a piece of plastic wrap separates it from actual cake to prevent the fondant from getting soggy.
I used pictures to re-create my Mom's familiy's homeplace. There were MANY obstacles that almost prevented it from getting done. It's not perfect but it's all in the details. The specil details is what stood out to everyone and took them back to being a kid again running around our grandparents yard. 4 tiers of cake, each tier iced and and covered in MMF, then entire cake covered again with fondant to provide smooth canvas for deco. Roof like to killed me-originally RKT were used and it weighed 50lbs so 2cd roof made with foam, rkt, and covered in fondant(everything else edible). This cake was a challenge with pneumonia and a 17 hour power outage, It however was still a hit (my gratification for not giving up)
My cousin wanted a dog that looked like our Grandfather's dog Prissy. Two six inch round bottom with small pillow cake on top. The dog is rice cereal treats covered in fondant. This was a last minute thing so it's not as neat as I would prefer but she loved it.
Bud cake. Four 6 inch rounds. I didnt let the cakes settle before covering in fondant. Thats why there is the ever dreaded bulge to the left side which made the can lean. By placing the sugar ice around it, it gave the appearnce it was stuck down in it and the lean was acceptable-LOL.
My Aunt loves Lady Bug's. This is a white chocolate cake with banana bc icing covered in banana flavored MMF.
Monkey Cake. The monkey and banana are made of fondant. Mini bananas in gift box are the marshmellows that were sold at Easter. The lid on the box is open. I used a cake board cut to fit the top, covered with cling wrap, iced and fondant covered to have the open effect.
This cake was for a 30 year old. Done with Wilton Castle set. The poles were difficult, I will use ice cream cones only next time. 1st tier Strawberry cake with banana bc filing, 2cd- chocolate pudding cake with almond bc filling, top-white chocolate with regular bc filling.
This cake was a lot of fun and turned out better than I thought it would.
