The cake is marble with banana cream filing. I made my own fondant using a recipe I found on Cake Central for the MMF and I'm in love with MMF. The taste is so much better than the store bought fondant. I'm going to keep experimenting but I'm pretty happy how it turned out.
This was my first iced cake and we used gel piping transfers to create the cupcake design, it was lots of fun and I like how it turned out. I did have a lot of crumbs in my icing but luckily the instructor gave some tips on how to avoid that.
Here is my final cake for my Wilton Basics Class, I attempted to do the ribbon rose before we had practiced the correct way in class but once I started making the purple roses I think I started to get the hang of it. Hope to make many more and continue to get better!
