Mario brothers themed birthday, customer had ordered figurines but they didn't all come in so I had to create the Mario race car. Making all the game elements made me want to boot up my own Mario's Bros game.
This pirate themed cake was designed by my hubby (he's the drawer in the family) and I turned the drawing into cake. The client didn't want the cake covered in fondant so I had to get creative and used chocolate for the chest and basically used fondant for the accent pieces.
A summer rustic wedding. The groom and his father made the cake stand. Small cake for bride and groom to cut with accompanying chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. (p.s. it was really hot outside that day!)
Winter wedding cake consisting of a decadent chocolate cake with chocolate chip mousse filling and a buttercream frost. Sprinkled course sugar to create the sparkly snowy effect. Snowmen bridge and groom with sugared pine cones and greens (all protected sitting on the cake)
Birthday cake for a beer lover. After a few attempts was able to combine a couple of different isomalt sticks to get the bronzy color for the beer. Since my first "pouring beer" shattered when bumped...learned real fast to travel with it laying down.
A friend sent me a picture of a boat and asked if I could make a groom's cake to look like it. First time sculpting a boat. Definitely need to clean up the lines but it was well received by the groom.
My 2nd cousin's wedding cake...the groom love's batman and the bride's side represented her dress. Ruffles and sugar rhinestones!
A 60th birthday cake. Must have made at least 500 handmade gold sequins for this cake.
My first attempt at a three tiered cascading rose. Peach pedals on a white background.
Fondant ruffled two tiered wedding cake I did for display at our local bridal show. Beautiful setting although the lighting as a little dark due to the stingrays behind me.
A lovely little girl's birthday cake who loves the color purple and tiaras.
I made this cake for a colleagues daughter. She loves everything minion. Made minion cupcakes as party favors too.
Sports theme rehearsal dinner cupcakes...golf clubs, water goggles, bicycle, basketball hoop with whistle, sneakers and flip flops and a diploma.
I didn't even know what or who Abby Cadabby was until I was asked to do a cake for a friend. Guess it's all about color!
This is my first attempt at the rose on the cake technique. I like how it turned. I tried different backdrops and it seemed like this was the favorite amongst my FB friends.
