Zebra Wild And 40! Birthday Cake
I made this for my friend's sister. This was a surprise cake, so we wanted it to be bold and fun. It was an 8" heart cake. I even made the cake pink and white zebra marble, so the zebra theme would carry all the way through LOL! The bow is gumpaste and the zebra print is by Luck's Food Decorating Co. The plaque on the front is also gumpaste. It was fun to make :o)

Mothers Day Cake
This was my first cake using marshmallow fondant. I really liked this fondant. It was smooth, rolled out nicely and was stretchy without tearing. It also tastes very good, like a sweet marshmallow. The "Mother and Child" is made from white chocolate that I hand sculpted and dry brushed with gold powder. The ruffles, roses and leaves are fondant, painted with pearl powder. The cake is a banana cake with cream cheese buttercream. All recipes are on cakecentral.

Topsy Turvy Easter Cake
This was a 10, 6 and 4" cake. It was my first attempt at a topsy turvy cake. I made the white chocolate nest by covering a glad plastic storage cup with plastic wrap, filling it with ice and putting the top on. I piped white chocolate that was cooled slightly onto the plastic wrap to resemble a nest. The ice inside the cup made the chocolate retain its piped form as it cooled the chocolate quickly. I placed them in the freezer for about ten minutes, then gently removed the nest from the container. I made fondant eggs for the inside. I used Lucks shimmer ribbon for the bottom tier, and buttercream for the other decorations.

Cinderella Pumpkin Cake
This was a stacked and carved cake made from three 8" layers. This was my first carved cake and first time using fondant. I hand painted it with iridescent powder colors diluted with vodka. I found diluting with water is not as effective on the fondant I used because it was like oil and water. The vines are also fondant.

Happy Face Cake
This was a half of a ball pan covered in buttercream. I accented with Happy Face "Balloon" Lollipops. I made three of these for three children celebrating their birthday the same day as the birthday girl of honor. We didn't want them left out. i also made 100 happy face cupcakes for all the guests....whheeew!
