Cheeseburger Cake
i found this idea on the internet. my daughter loves cheeseburgers. the "bun" layers are strawberry and the "hamburger" is chocolate. the bun is iced with buttercream and covered in fondant. i iced the chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and crumbled up extra chocolate cake to add to the sides for texture (to resemble hamburger). the tomato, cheese and lettuce are all fondant.

Batmobile
this is one of my first cakes with fondant. it's a 9x13 sheet cake carved to resemble the shape of the batmobile. the top of car is a round cake (i think 8") and cut in half at an angle. it's iced with buttercream and covered with black fondant. I hand painted the emblem with wilton's black food coloring gel. the "hubcaps" are hershey kisses.

Smurf Village
My 7 year old daughter loves the Smurfs. She, of course, had to have Smurf Village for her birthday. The blue one is chocolate, the pink is strawberry and yellow is vanilla. They are all iced with buttercream and covered with fondant. I got the shape from the wilton's cupcake pan. I trimmed the rippled edges of the cake and flipped the bottom portion. It was the perfect size for a smurf house. The characters I bought at Toys R Us. She loved it.
