Tie Dyed 2 Tier Cake With Smiley Face
This is the finished product. I cut out neon colored happy faces, peace signs, and daisies to adhere to the sides of the bottom and tie dyed lettering for the sides of the top tier, then used yellow color spray for the background & black sparkle gel for the smiley face. Most of the kids weren't familiar with fondant and were amazed they could touch the bottom without making a mess.

Tie Dyed 2-Tiered Birthday Cake
My niece wanted a tie-dyed theme for her birthday and I worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off. I looked on this site and found instructions from the Cake Boss & was pleased with my results. I believe I accomplished the tie-dye look without going too far and getting a marbled effect. What do you think? Depending on the colors used, it could go for a boy or girl.

Fondant Safari Animals
These are all made of fondant and hand-crafted to match the party decorations chosen for the celebration. The zebra was the first and the lion was last, and though I fell in love with them all, my favorite was the giraffe...I almost didn't want to give them away! (These went with the monkey face cake)

3D Scooby Doo
This was my first attempt at a 3D cake, with the help of my oldest son. This is before I learned the pros were using rice cereal treats to keep the weight down. We used everything from cake to twinkies to put this together, and had we waited another moment to snap this picture, it would have gone in the "disaster" gallery! the "S" emblem, bone, & tongue are gum paste

Dolphin Cake
I made the dolphins and side decorations of gum paste, used my angled spatula to create "waves", used spray color to control the amount of color on the cake, and used foam stamps as a template for the side decorations of starfish, crabs, mermaids, etc.. I then used crushed cookies pressed into buttercream spread onto the cake board for sand and also used real seashells (after washing, of course) on the "beach" (I did tell the recipient, as I didn't want any broken teeth!)

Elmo Throws A Birthday Party
Elmo & the lettering are made of gum paste. The banner is made of sparkle gel. I also purchased the royal icing balloons. An accompanying cake was made with a matching top & bottom border on a round cake with confetti sprinkles and ballons in the center for the birthday boy to have to himself (not shown)

Hawaiian Themed Cake
I made part of the cake beach and the other ocean and used hula dolls and run in sugar palm trees. The designs on the sides are stamped on using foam stamps and thinned paste colors (the hardest part was that it was iced in buttercream, so the stamps didn't want to take very well)

Barbie Cake
Instead of using the molded pan for the skirt, I carved this from 3 layers of round cakes, made the ruffles & bow. The front view wouldn't load, but the ruffles go around the front and a V-shape starts at the waist, going to the bottom and is flat but made with mild waves to show "movement"
