50Th Striped Black And White
Made this for my hubby's 50th :-) It's an orange creamsicle cake with a vanilla mousse covered in fondant. My first time working with stripes. I found it to be a bit of a challenge. Definitely not my best work : / Learned some lessons though. First of all when misting the cake with water so that the fondant will stick, I need to be very light handed with the water. Next, when using white and black fondant, do not lay them next to each other because the black fondant bleeds and will get onto the white leaving some staining :'( I think if I'm ever ambitiousness enough to do this again, I may try it with modeling chocolate instead. If anyone has any tips on how to do this better, I'm VERY interested!! Thanks for looking!!

Ruffle Flowers
First time making these flowers, love the look of them. It was for a birthday and she wanted very feminine flowers with color. I would have liked to do just one large one with an even softer color for more of a shabby chic look, maybe next time :-) White chocolate cake with raspberry mousse filling. Buttercream with fondant accents.

Pretty In Pink
My plan was to make 8 different mini dresses for my husband to take to work for the ladies in his office, but they ended up taking longer than I anticipated so they will now become gifts for a few special friends :-) Chocolate Cake with whopper chocolate mousse filling, covered in fondant with fondant accents.

Fantasy Flower
I was originally going to make the Ruffle Cake by GreatExpectCaketions, but failed at making the ruffles :-( Then I was going to try and make "White Cake with Red Flower" by Jan14grands, but failed at making her flower : )~ lol So this is what I ended up making :-) It's a gift for my Senior Pastor's 55th Anniversary. Hope they like it! French vanilla WASC with lemon mousse filling, BC with fondant accents. TFL!

Pirate Cake
The cake that almost brought me to tears :'( The dreaded bulge reared it's ugly head!! I had done all I could to avoid this! I used the damming, tile weight method, etc and it still got me! I did learn something though :-) Cakes will not settle if they are refrigerated-thanks Leah_s. I refrigerated this cake because it had a bavarian cream filling. I don't know how to get around that other than never use fillings that require refrigeration? Anyway...It's a vanilla cake colored green per the birthday boy's request, filled with bavarian cream and strawberries (never again with those either!). Fondant accents and the treasure chest is made of modeling chocolate. Despite the bulge, it was a fun cake to make! :-) TFL!!

Cheesecake
My New York cheesecake with ruffle flowers made out of molding chocolate. I was inspired by mrsmudrash's ruffle flower cupcakes (she has a tutorial on how to make them on her blog). It was my first time using molding chocolate and I have to say I LOVE THIS STUFF!! I'm looking forward to using it allot more in the future :-) TFL!

Zebra Purse Cake
Thanks to mrsmudrash for the inspiration :-) I had so much fun making this purse cake!! Lots of firsts: My first purse cake, first time painting on fondant which made me very nervous because I'm not good at drawing, and first time making an anemone flower. White Chocolate Cake with Raspberry buttercream filling. It's a surprise gift for a friends birthday, hope she likes it!

Camo Oreo Truffle Pops
Birthday for a 15 yr old boy. Mom wanted to know if I could make camo designed cake pops . I had no idea how to do this so I posted a thread for help. Sweettreat101 told me how she did a cake and gave me some tips and Icer101 shared a link on camo. Thanks to the ladies I had something to go off of. I think they turned out pretty darn good!! :-) They're Oreo truffles dipped in white chocolate and decorated in camo colored bc. TFL!

Over The Hill Birthday Cake
Husband told me last night that a friend of ours was turning 50 today so I had to make this quick! Used my cricket for only the second time and am really finding that there is a REAL learning curve with it!! It's an 8in Strawberry Lemonade WASC (first time making it and it tastes delicious!) with Easy Bavarian Cream modified (per Rosesk82 suggestion)~I made it with 1 box Lemon pudding 4ounces cream cheese and 1c heavy whipping cream and slided strawberries. Frosted with Indydebi's BC. SOOO GOOD!! NOTE to fellow Cricut Cake users: I used a Wilton Sugar Sheets (new at Michaels for 3.99) and it worked well with the cricut. Border, balloons and strings are all made of fondant.

Ou Graduation
I made this for my daughters graduation. My first and possibly last half sheet cake (even though I invested in the 12x18 fat daddio's pan) : )~ It's a red velvet-Perfect Red Velvet recipe by Foxicakes-awesome!! with a Bavarian Cream Cheese Filling (my own concoction-delicious!!) and Cream Cheese Frosting-Decorator's Cream Cheese frosting by azeboi2005, it too was the best!! Cap and scroll were made out of gumpaste and border out of fondant. Learned ALLOT from this one. First of all, do not try to double this red velvet recipe if your KA is only a 5 quart lol. Second, I used 4 heating cores when baking such a large cake and that was definitely a smart move. Third, when the cake was done (right out of the oven), I used a tip that I read in a thread somewhere to press down on the cake with a cookie sheet (but I used a small cutting board in order to maneuver around the baking cores) this was a great tip!! I didn't have to level the cake! :-) Fourth, I decided to purchase a fat daddio's cake leveler (can't afford an Agbay) and was glad I did! Fifth, the edible laquer worked great (50/50 vodka and light kayro syrup) Sixth, I need a tutorial on how to make a book cake :-) And finally, I SERIOUSLY need help with my MMF!! Especially when it comes to colors like red!! This batch of MMF that I colored to get the OU was a crumbly mess!! All I could do was make balls out of it!! >:( After it was all said and done she was really happy with the cake, and that made it all worth it!! :-)

Mom's 80Th
I had to travel from Oklahoma to Iowa and I don't ever want to do that again! Everything that could go wrong did! The cakes that I froze were all deformed so I had to buy new pans and bake them all over again. The fondant that I premade was a wreck! I tried everything I could to make it workable with no luck so I had to switch my plan and do buttercream (which posed several challenges as well). And to top it off, my sister's home slants allot, so it was next to impossible to get a level cake! After all the challenges, I think I pulled off an ok cake, but I was more than ready to give up!! I was truly tested and I seriously question my abilities to do this. Good thing it's only a hobby :-) Bottom tier is chocolate cake with oreo filling (from this site). Top tier is vanilla WASC with a raspberry mousse from this site. Fondant accents and the golf balls are made out of white chocolate. In the end, mom loved it and it tasted awesome :-)
