This is my first practice attempt at a wedding cake Ive got coming up and the bride wants a sash on all three layers, so using my dummy cakes Ill hving a go. For my first attempt dnt think they were too bad. Any advice on the best techniques to make the sashes would be appreciated. TFL

3 black and white tiers each represented 10 years service and the top colourful tier represented the up coming retirement years. The top tier was inspired by some wonderful cakes I had seen on this site so thankyou to those people.
A fruit sponge cake with strawberry jam and butter cream filling. The cake has edible pictures of my grandad with his children and us grandchildren topped off with a fondant model of his border collie eating his shoe!!! I'm still learning making models so I was pleased with the final piece.

I had 4 hours to whip this cake up for a 30th birthday, its not as finished or deailed as I would like but the birthday boy was pleased.
