I am in love with the billowing technique. At the moment I can't bake any cakes so I thought I would try myself on an interpretation for cupcakes.
Colorful fall flower bouquet on a 50. wedding anniversary cake. I made golden yellow gerbera daisies, chrysanthemum in burnt orange, and autumn rust-red roses. The flower bouquet lies on a bed of fall colored leaves in yellow-reds and red-browns. To complete the bouquet and to add height to the arrangement light brown acorns and deep red hypericum berries are included.
My little sister requested the cake design to be a surprise this time. I seized the opportunity to finally try out techniques I have been waiting to do: topsy turvy, quilting, and lace mold border.
It was sooo much fun to make this cake. Had my creative juices flowing all over. The bride gave me quite some freedom so I used the wedding bouquet pictures she sent as color samples for inspiration. Hot pink roses, green chrysanthmum, light pink and baby green filler flowers on white fondant covered red velvet cake. Thanks for watching!
Usually I prefer the van for deliveries, but it happened to be that day I had to use my husband's car (a Porsche 928). It didnt go unnoticed by the birthday boys older brother. His mom wrote that he kept telling everyone that Knox is so special that he even had his birthday cake delivered in a REAL RACE CAR!! :D
