Totally 80S 25Th High School Reunion Cake
I recently went home for my...ahem...25th high school reunion. I volunteered to make the cake--so I flew all my pans, tools and fondant cross country :) Made an 80s cake, trying to incorporate as many 80s 'things' as I could. It's a bit rough, and overly crowded, but it sure was fun! I should also say that 2 of my elementary school friends, who have never decorated a cake, were a HUGE help in getting this done on time! They did a GREAT job ;)

Rainbow Cake For Preschool Graduation
I made this for my son's preschool class's graduation. Everything is based on things they created, studied, or sang :) The rainbow is based on a rainbow picture they made with little squares of tissue paper. Also includes the kids' names on clouds and the teachers as the sun :) Cake was vanilla rainbow.

St. Patrick's Day Wedding Cake
Irish themed cake for a St. Patick's Day wedding :) Based on a pic the couple found (don't know where) with some changes--like the leprechaun hat tier. Flavor was based on the "Irish Car Bomb" drink--Guinness chocolate cake, Jameson-spiked ganache filling and Bailey's SMBC. My first wedding cake! Was quite a thrill for this Irish lass ;)

Turkey was pumpkin cake with cream cheese, potatoes were chocolate Guinness cake with chocolate buttercream and pie was pear pecan cake with cranberry SMBC.

Beach, Mermaids And Rainbow!
Made this for one of my bestie's daughter's 5th birthday. She wanted a beach theme cake with mermaids and really wanted some rainbow colors in it. I took inspiration from many cakes here for the standing rainbow :) Everything is edible but the mermaids, which her mom provided--fondant and gumpaste. Sand is crumbled vanilla wafers. And there was a surprise in the middle too :)

Glee Cake
4 tier Glee cake. I pretty much stole PieceofCakeAZ's FABULOUS Glee design and added the 4th Big Quench tier. All fondant covered (except the slurpy, which was sanding sugar on cream cheese icing). All letting is hand-done, as was the cast silhouette. The 'L' hand was my third attempt--made of gumpaste/fondant mix. Many thanks to PieceofCakeAZ for originally posting!

Yo Gabba Gabba Cake
2nd birthday cake for one of my bestie's daughters. Saw many similar examples and got much inspiration from cakes on this site and the internet. I saw a few cakes with the Yo Gabba Gabba bath squirter toys, and thought I'd try to make them. (Easier than making whole figures ;) Everything is edible, but the skewers for the sign. The figures are mostly fondant with a little gum paste mixed in. Lots of fun to make :) It was a chocolate chocolate chip cake with cookies and cream SMBC.

Pink And Purple Princess Cake
Client said her daughter liked pink, purple, princesses, and sparkly so this is the design I came up with. I borrowed quite a lot from Liz23's princess cake, and took the design for the tiara from hobbymommy's pillow cake. Thanks ladies! SO MUCH great inspiration on this sight! The cake was real strawberry cake with real strawberry SMBC. Fondant covered, all edible. The tiara was gumpaste/fondant, and the gems were fondant, made from homemade molds. You can't really tell, but I luster dusted the pearls and crown, and sprinkled the whole cake with disco dust (love!) Thanks again for the inspiration!

High Heel Bridal Shower Cake
This was my first bridal shower cake. It was based completely on the invite--the shoe design, the design on the panels, the saying "Dreams Come True," the colors. Shoe was gumpaste (and a few wires!) painted silver and black. Everything else is fondant. Tiers were banana cake with fudge filling and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Lord Ganesh 40Th Birthday Cake
My client wanted a Ganesh cake for her husband's 40th birthday--he is the Hindu god with 4 arms and an elephant head. I scuplted Ganesh's body from RKT and formed his head, arms and legs from a fondant/gumpaste mix. I formed parts of the crown, the necklace and belt from Indian-style beads I made silicone molds from. The pillow cakes were red velvet and carrot (the recipe from Colette Peter's book--very sturdy and DELISH!) I covered the tops and bottoms seperately. Piped designs with royal icing--really my first try at piping. Then I painted, painted, painted everything gold! Also, my fondant gun got quite a workout with this cake! Ganesh varies from image to image, but I created him with an ax, rope, bowl of sweets and symbol for "Om" in his hands. Also, he always has a little mouse with him (that he rides on :) And he's sitting on a 'lotus flower' made from red fondant.

Pink Prom Theme Cake
This was for a tween's birthday party. Her theme was "Pink Prom"--super cute party, BTW ;) Main tier and purse are cake covered in fondant. Shoes are gumpaste; make-up and jewelry are fondant. Really fun to make! Also, I got MUCH inspiration for the purse from a brilliant cake maker's website--keyartstudio.com
