I used 2 layers of 8" round cakes and left the bloom on the top layer. Its iced with ivory butter cream and and sprayed with pearl and lightly sprayed with pink shimmer. All the flowers are made with gumpaste along with the handle and spout. Sorry I didn't get a very good picture of the cake, I made it to be auctioned at a ladies tea fellowship to raise money for the Cookie Project for Honduras Missions. I didn't have time to get a good picture before I left home with it.
This was the first time I have used this technique and I chose to use royal icing instead of buttercream. Although my royal icing was a almost too thin because for some reason it seemed to have softened by the time I got ready to use it . It still came out nice regardless.
I made a gumpaste rose and lots of petals to surrounded it with to give it the illusion of fallen petals.Needless to say I had a very happy Bride.
All done in buttercream icing with the deco to resemble a red and blue handkerchief. The other photo I just added to show you what I did with my adobe photo shop that gave it a whole new look. I just went in the filters and gave it a warm look and this is how it came out. I thought it was amazing how it totally changed the colors.
The cake is covered in chocolate buttercream icing, and the flowers are made of gumpaste and royal icing.
This cake was for a fall Bridal shower so I chose to do some daisies and 5 petal blossoms that I made with gumpaste, and the roses and mums are made with royal icing. Everything else is buttercream icing.
