Ikura sushi cake. This was a two layer 8 inch cake I covered and filled in buttercream and then wrapped in green fruit roll ups (super hard to find green only, had to buy several boxes of multi color and cut the green off). Coconut on top with candied orange slices for the salmon. I tinted my buttercream green to be the wasabi and crinkled up the extra red fruit roll up to be the ginger. I found a picture online of a real Ikura sushi roll and this was my best representation!
Made this for a 30th surprise birthday for a guy. I love food cakes for guy occasions because every guy loves food and they are so fun to make! This is two 10 inch rounds for the top and bottom buns then a "naked" unfrosted 10 inch brownie in the middle! I picked at the edges to make it look more like hamburger. I frosted the buns before I put it all together. Layer the bottom bun, then the brownie, then your toppings (They really only hang over the edge with a nice layer of buttercream btw each layer) and then the top bun! Yum! The fries are made of gum paste that is yellow and then I brushed a little cocoa powder on them to make them look "browned". Made matching little slider cupcakes too.
