Yet another cake inspired by I am Baker. Thanks so much to Amanda of I am Baker for the tutorial and inspiration! I decided to do this method on a double layer 8" with a 6" on top (dummy cakes) to test out a new BC recipe I am toying with.
I've wanted to make this cake since I first saw it - but modelling the figurine after my daughter. This was my first time using gumpaste to make a person so it's very basic and full of flaw but I'm pleased.
The largest cake I've covered in fondant and I'm relatively pleased. I rolled it too thin on one side and in tore/wasn't as aas I'd like but it was "decent". Client was pleased.
Two-tier fondant 1st birthday cake.
Buttercream roses and ruffled sides complete this Mother's Day cake. Was also a Birthday cake!
Inspired by a delicious mug of hot cocoa, this cake is a three-layer 6" chocolate fudge cake, fudge filling, iced with and handle made from fondant.
Petits Fours made using Oreo Cakesters! Made to match a Cherry Blossom Wedding Cake I made. Covered in rolled fondant with fondant Cherry Blossoms.
IMO the most delicious cake on the planet - LOL. Chocolate fudge cake, filled with homemade chocolate mousse and sliced fresh strawberries. Iced with mousse, topped with ganache-dipped strawberries, poured ganache and bottom-bordered with homemade truffles.
I've had this idea in my head for SO LONG and today i finally made it reality! Used strips of fondant for the "legos'.
