80's Cake
This was for my brother-in-law's 40th birthday this year. The theme was totally 80's - Pac Man, neon, animal prints, and Rubik's cube. The tiers were white cake filled with SMBC except the Rubik's cube which was carved rice krispie treats. All details were MMF except the Rubik's cube squares, which were gumpaste.

Magic Cake
For my niece's birthday. Bunny was made from rice krispie treats wrapped in MMF. The hat was three 2" layers of white cake filled with SMBC. I couldn't figure out how to make the hat brim so I just wrapped a cake board in black fondant. Next time I would try using chocolate. Crusting buttercream forsted the bottom tier; smoothed with Viva paper towels. MMF and gumpaste details.

Beach Party Cake
For my niece's 4th birthday. Her birthday is in July so she had a beach party. Beachball was made from the Wilton sports mold and covered with white mmf, then I just freehand cut the stripes to put on the ball. The beach scene for the bottom tier was layers of MMF. I used my leaf cutter to make the fish.

Moster Cake And Cupcake Monsters

Mickey Mouse Cake
This was for the nephew of a friend who is crazy for Mickey. The hat was half of the Wilton sports mold covered with black MMF. The ears were made from a thick cut of gumpaste, which was allowed about a week to dry out, and stuck into the hat by 3 prongs of food-safe wire and a layer of royal icing to "glue" them down. Bottom tier design were cut layers of marshmallow fondant.

Harry Potter Cake
This Harry Potter sheet cake was for my nephew's 11th birthday. Harry was made from gumpaste - he was the first figure I'd ever made. The crest was made from marshmallow fondant. I projected a picture of the crest I found on the internet on to the wall and traced the details on to wax paper, then transferred the wax paper stencils to the MMF to cut. Buttercream frosting smoothed with Via. Viva Viva!!

Princess Castle Cake
This was a WASC cake; 10" square bottom tier and 5" round top tier. Both tiers were filled with a layer of SMBC, and draped in pink marshmallow fondant. Towers made by wrapping gumpaste around cardboard tubes. Gumpaste and MMF details. I would personally like to thank whomever the genius was who invented Royal Icing - that stuff is miracle frosting for "gluing" the towers to the cake and making sure everything was super stable. Hooray for Royal icing!!!!!
