Taylor Guitar Cake
I made this cake for a very musical family that we know, for their son's wedding. It was designed after the Taylor 914 Guitar. Everything was edible except the strings, the wooden dowels that hold them at the tuning end, and 6 toothpicks which I used to stick the tuning keys in the sides. The bottom layer was chocolate, the top layer vanilla and I used chocolate cream cheese frosting for the "dark" areas. The mother-of-pearl inlay was a true experiement of mixing several differnt types of decorating gels and swirling the appropriate colors in with toothpicks....it took a little bit of time, lol. I carefully cut out a "pattern" out of newsprint paper to keep the dimension of the guitar correct, just making it smaller than the actual guitar.

Lacey And Evan Wedding Cake
Lacey had a wedding true to her name. Victorian themed, complete with lace up lace covered boots, bridesmaids carrying lace parasols...it was lovely! The cake need to compliment this "lacey" event, so we found this design and opted to go with these colors, as they were the colors her bridemaids wore. It took quite some time to do this lace effect, as it called for over layering many times with different effects.

Seashell Wedding Cake
This was for a small wedding that was to be held on the beach. I used a candy mold for most of the shells (and Marshmallow Fondant). I hand molded the Sandollars, and re-worked the starfish to make them individually different. I sprinkled cookie crumb topping around the base for "sand".

Nikita's Baby Shower
I made this cake for my Niece's baby shower. The bottom tier was chocolate, the top tier vanilla. They were alternately iced in chocolate buttercream and vanilla buttercream. This was a super simple cake to put together, as the decorations were minimal, but I really liked the cute simplicity of it.

Breanna's 19Th Birthday Sunflower Cake
My friends daughter loves sunflowers. For her 19th birthday I was given "free reign" on making this cake with any sort of sunflower theme. I chose the flower pot idea. The cake is a 2 layer chocolate 10-inch trimmed to 8 inch at the bottom. I scooped out some cake from the top and crumbled it to make "dirt". The flowers are parts of cupcakes. The petals are made from a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mixture and the centers are chocolate chips.

Maddie's Graduation Cake
My friends daughter will be going to college on a basketball scholorship...so this was the perfect idea for her graduation cake. The bottom portion was comprised of 2 separate cakes: a 4 in. chocolate, and a 4 in. vanilla (comprised of 2 in. layers). They were trimmed to narrow at the bottom to form the "net" shape, and iced in chocolate buttercream. The ball is vanilla and iced in buttercream. They were pretty happy with the cake! Whew. :)

My First Gumpast/fondant Figure!
This is the first fondant figure I've ever made. I've been researching and testing out ideas for a month or so now, and here she is. Her body and head are made of a very fine rice krispy treat mixture. I shaped and molded them while warm and set to dry, then covered in tinted gumpaste. I have to thank EVERYONE on here who has ever posted a photo or an idea on how to do this...this is where I learned 99% of it. I was having trouble finding the type of face I wanted, and I saw a few adorable toppers on youtube, so I did my best to copy that look. :)
