Brian's Groom Cake
This was a heart shaped devil's food cake. I used a Wilton 16in diameter heart shaped pan. I made 2 cakes total & torted multiple times and filled them with white chocolate ganache. It was frosted with traditional buttercream frosting (colored red) and the top was decorated with gum paste. Unfortunately one of the very young guests at the wedding had played with the top and side before I got a photo of it. It disappeared very quickly! I think they liked it.

My Mom's Wedding Cake
I alternated plain white cake and red (food colored) white cake with dark chocolate ganache filling and traditional buttercream frosting. each cake was torted multiple times. The cakes were all heart shaped. I used red satin ribbon and florist spikes to create mini bouquets of fresh roses, foliage and baby's breath; which guests were able to take with them after the cake was dissasembled and served as a keepsake from the celebration. The cake stand was made by Wilton. It was the best cake stand I've ever used!
