Thomas The Truck
Made for a friend's son "Thomas" for his 3rd birthday. This cake was bigger than it looks in the photo. The front and wheels were made of rice cereal treats, the chassis was a yellow butter cake and in the box was a chocolate cake. All scratch made fondant, some of it mixed with tylose!
This is a double high 8" round cake covered in ganache and fondant. I covered the cake with paper stars, airbrushed it, then removed the stars and put the skyline around the bottome. TFL!
Severed Head Cake
This is the severed head cake I made for my friends birthday/Halloween party. It is a chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream, white chocolate ganache, 50/50 modelling chocolate/fondant. Hair is chocolate fondant, blood is piping gel. TFL
Here is a cake with my sister and her kids for a friends Birthday. The friend was turning 30 and used to be a dart champion. The trophy is hers. The cake sustained a bit of damage on transport apparent in the second photo. All fondant decorations with royal icing piping. Darts are spaghetti, fondant and rice paper flights.
This is an 8" marble cake with chocolate buttercream and scratch fondant (the white at least). It started out as a cow, but after enough comments we decided to call it the pig-cow cake. It was a lot of fun to make. The design I copied is "Merlette's" , thank-you.
Carl Edwards' Ford Fusion Nascar!!!!
I had a lot of fun making this cake. It is up to 5 layers of my honey cake filled with vanilla buttercream, then covered in white chocolate ganache and covered in scratch made black fondant. The picture doesn't show it well, but the car sat off the cake platter, you could see under it!
Winding Road Cake
This is a cake I made for the leaving president of a local community organization for people living with HIV. She is also a bicycle enthusiast. I really enjoyed creating the road. I stacked a 8" and 6" cake then carved the road with zero waste. I wanted to put a few signs along the road, but just ran out of time.
Who wouldn't want this present? It is 3 layers of caramel cake filled with a whipped caramel frosting and covered in chocolate buttercream icing. Ribbon is Fondant and bow is gumpaste. Still trying to perfect smoothing buttercream.
My First Pirate Ship. It was so much fun to make. My beet-red velvet cake, with boiled buttercream filling, covered in white chocolate ganache and chocolate fondant. Everything is edible except the masts holding up the sails.
Buttercream with fondant accents and gumpaste tag. Made for a going away party. The flag is from Benin. I had a lot of fun doing this cake and was really inspired by douchka's cake: http://cakecentral.com/gallery/1241209
