So after making the black forest we had some icing left, so my 3 year old neice said she wanted a banana split cake because we had so many cherries left, her words...lol!! I mixed up a banana flavored cake,added in some chocolate chips and she iced the cake and added the pecans and cherries!!!
So this is a cake my sister and I decorated. The pineapple was bought from a local grocery because we ran out of time, but the walk way is graham crackers and the crabby patties are the border. The pink jelly fish were decorated by the birthday girl herself and we used the crusher graham for the sand.
Well, i didnt make the base of the cake, my mother in law insisted in buying the cake, but when we got it, i was like nooo, so I re-decorated the entire cake, i will look to see if i can find a pic of the before. My husband is an avid rock crawler, and the toy truck on the cake is a replica of our off road truck.
So this was my very first attempt to making a black forest...i think the design itself came out pretty good, and there was no cake left so i know it tasted good :)
So this cake was originally suppose to be made by a friend of the family but when that never happened, i stepped in and made it in less than an 2 hours....its choclate chip chocolate cake, and buttercream...we always make cupcakes on the side but they are vanilla..all alice and wonderland themed for my neices 7th bday!
