I piled store bought icing high on these cupcakes to make the top round like a Christmas ornament. Then I dipped each cupcake in decorator sugar and decorated them with M&Ms, mini M&Ms and some red rope licorice. You can also decorate the ornaments with other candies, fruit roll ups, etc.
I made this star guitar using a star shaped cake pan and a regular rectangular cake pan. I cut a long strip from the rectangular cake for the neck and then carved the picks from the remaining cake. All the icing is buttercream.

This crocodile cupcake design is from a cupcake cookbook. It was surprisingly easy to make, but it did take a while to individually ice each cupcake. I used store bought icing for this and it worked just fine. For the eyes, you stick two large marshmallows together, cover them with icing and stick on a Junior Mint candy on each side. The claws are made with Runts candy bananas. The ridges were made with chocolate covered graham crackers that I cut in half. The recipe called for square chocolate cookies, but I couldn't find them at the store and the grahams worked fine. I made these for a boy's birthday.
For this cake I tried to replicate the design of the Rolling Stones tongue logo. This was before I had any cake clases and learned about the special red food coloring!
I cut a strip of cake off the long end of a regular 9x13 inch cake to make the arms for this football jersey cake. The jersey looks like the one Mick Jagger wore on the Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street album tour . It would be good for any football fan or Rolling Stones fan.
