Tear Drop Wedding Cake
This wedding cake turned out amazing and I am very pleased with the results. This is a 3-tier marbled chocolate and vanilla cake with vanilla bean cheesecake mousse filling all covered in vanilla buttercream, the accents are a fondant/gumpaste mix. The credit for the design of the cake goes to Martha Stewart, I of course added a few different things, but the main design is hers.

Sweet!
This was my first competition cake. I entered in the beginner category as the intermediate was several years of decorating (I've only decorated for 8 months) anyways, chocolate and vanilla marbled cake with a chocolate buttercream filling and covered in MMF, decorations are all fondant. I had some issues with my bow so I had to re design it while decorating. I placed 3rd in the beginners. It was a very fun experience and made some new friends and can't wait until next years!

Yellow And Green
my cousins baby shower cake. all white cake, bottom tier has lemon filling, middle has raspberry filling, top has strawberry filling. iced in buttercream decorations are fondant. Not bad for my first 3-tiered cake :) I got the tutorial for the shoes from a cake here on CC, I can't remember the original poster though.

Brown And Blue
I wanted to practice some techniques for an upcoming wedding cake, and a friend graciously agreed to take it off my hands (I want to lose my baby weight!) her only requirement was that it be GF. It is chocolate cake with chocolate icing and covered in fondant. It's also my first square fondant cake, which I found to be a LOT easier than round cakes. Square cake has the quilted pattern on it, and the round has buttercream frosting designs (sorry it's late I can't remember the name...) 6"sq and 4"rd

Mothers Day
A lemon cake with lemon filling, frosted with a sour cream frosting then covered in fondant. flowers are gumpaste and fondant. definitely not my best. I was having issues covering the cake with the fondant. It just wasn't working right for some reason, luckily I could hide the blemishes with flowers. These were my first gumpaste roses, I didn't like how they turned out. The idea sprung from several cakes on CC

Pot Of Gold
My first 3D cake. It didn't turn out as well as I wanted, but it's okay. I couldn't get spray paint to do anything to the fondant so instead I took my black gel coloring and painted it with a brush, made for some black teeth, but the kids loved it. Next time I will color the fondant black and use a ball cake pan for the shape rather than carving it out myself.

The Constitution
This is a cake for my Sister-in-Law. She loves anything to do with history, especially certain presidents and the Revolution era. Yellow cake with strawberry filling and a buttercream frosting. The presidents and Constitution are done from fondant, hand cut. I did use a needle and silhouette pictures to get the design onto the fondant. Then on the Constitution is white fondant and I used gold powder dust to give it the antique look, then I used a tool to indent the words and then hand painted them black.

Angry Birds
My husband loves this game. The birds and pigs were relatively easy to make out of fondant and gum tex. The bottom layer is a spice cake and the hill the pigs sit on is a lemon cake. All covered in cream cheese frosting. I tried adding some 'peaks' to make it look like grass, but it didn't work as well as I had hoped. If I did this cake again, I would cover it with fondant.

Double Shower
This was a cake for 2 of my friends who are due within a few weeks of each other. It is a Strawberry Mud Cake that was absolutely divine! Filled with a strawberry filling, and frosted with strawberry buttercream (tasted like ice cream!), then covered in fondant. The blocks are formed from my daughters alphabet blocks. I covered them with seran wrap and then put the fondant over them. Next time I make blocks like this I will use frosting as the outlines rather than rolling fondant. The bow could use some work, but it was my first.
