My first sculpted cake. Not too hard. I a REALLY hard time with the mask. This was third one..that also broke, just like the others. I guess I needed more drying time. I ended up just breaking the rest of the bottom off and using the top of the mask or the whole thing. The person who it was fore had no idea it was even an issue. lol I used a 3" tall 8" round for the bottom layer, then 2 9" in the middle, then used the soccer ball for the top layer. I thought it would be easier to carve if the middle was wider (9") b/c a helmet is kind of wider in the middle and tapered on the bottom. Came out ok. Would love to try it again and improve. :)
My first cake with fondant decorations. Everything is edible on this cake, even the sign!
