This was my first time working with gum paste. I used it for the tail, but found that it dried too fast. I added a little bit of fondant to another batch of gum paste and found that it didn't dry as fast as I needed it to. About 2-3 hours later it still wasn't dry. You can see barbie is falling backwards and the tail is cracking. She made it for her appearance and I learned a few lessons on making mermaid tails, but still haven't mastered the art of gum paste.
