2 teired choc mud wedding cake, sugar flowers and iced with ganache
I had trouble finding pictures to help me create a 3D fish jumping out of water, however I was able to find a a very creative fellow cc who had done a 3D fish from styrofoam, so I used it as aguide to help me. Unfortunately being cake I couldn't carve my fish as fine, so instead of a barramundi he looks more like a trout or grouper lol. I got a little disheartened as a couple of friends laughed at him, but I brushed it off, and just thought I don't think they realise how tricky it is to carve cake and still have it defy gravity lol lol, all good. Anyway had fun making him.
This was my first go at making a lily, I have done frangipanis before, but these ones turned out much better as I did these in a class, where they showed us properly how to make them. Again flowers I think I am going to nick name myself thumbs, although I didn,t feel as bad this time as when I did the flower arrangement on top of the cake, I still struggled a bit.
This was for my boys combined birthdays, they love spiderman and asked if I could please make them one, so I attempted and this is what I came up with. I used 2 9" rounds for base ball for his head and a I used some cut offs to help with his neck. I then ganached him and painted him with red and blue food gel as the compressor wasn't working very well to use my spray gun. I then rolled fondant fine and put over him for his web and painted it with silver food colouring. Thankyou to fellow cc for their great cakes which helped me to create this one.
This was for a friend, I used a pudding bowl for his body and half ball tin cut and shaped for the head. I then piped white ganache all over his body to represent his fleece.
I did this cake in a cake class, it was my first time piping and arranging flowers. OMG I felt like I was all thumbs putting the flowers together lol. I hope as i practice the better I will get and it will become a little less all thumbs feeling lol :-)
Just a 6" round, covered with fondant and decided to add piping to jazz it up a little.
I attempted the Titans football, however was a little disappointed as it went a bit flat on the bottom, so I didn't get the look i wanted. I looked on here and found a fellow cc, who had done a brilliant job and used their idea for the colours on the board.
Very basic and quick omnitrix for one of my boys, I cheated on this one as it was a very last minute cake and put a plastic figurine on top.
fun birthday cake for my mates little fellas first birthday. Didn't have an oval tin so just used a 9" and trimmed the sides to give it that shape.
This was my 1st attempt at using edible photos, the final product wasn't too bad, considering I have been qutie ill. The icing started to crack aound the edges for some reason, not my best job, but it is all practice.
This was requested for a 6 year olds birthday, she loved Rossetta and wanted a castle for her.
This was made for a young ladies 21st birthday.
I used a pudding tin and 2x 8" round cakes for this and carved it out. I like to try to shape it to the barbies body so it looks more in proportion. I made the pudding tin cake rainbow inside and the birthday girl thought it was fantastic,
My son had to have Tai Lung from kung Fu Panda, not Po or master Shifu one's that you might actually be able to find pictures of lol (he does it to me all the time lol). After hunting I found a pic and drew it up to size and carved it out of the cake and decorated it.
Birthday girl chose this out of my planet cake book and wanted this exactly, so I recreated it for her, with a couple of little extra's for her lol.
With the help of thebook planet cake, I made a hand bag cake. I used the birthday girls initials on the end of the bag as well, just to personalise it a bit more. I used 2 square cakes for the bag instead of one, ganached it together and then carved it to shape. The base was 10inch round and it was all choc mud as asked for. The handles on the cake were not edible, which if i Did again I would create from fondant or gum paste in advance. We had to travel so I only took what I essentially needed and therefore made the handles out of tubing covered in ribbon.
I wanted to make a 3D dirtbike for a birhtday cake, but as it wasn't a harley, it made it a little challenging to stand up without creating a stand ofr it to sit on to take the wieight and pressure of the cake. So I opted for this version after a little research, I drew up my sketch with a little help from my wonderful dad, and then carved out the cake using my sketch. I then molded to give it that rounded 3D type of appearance while still lying down on the board. The handle bars were fondant made a week in advance to dry. The dirt under the bike was just crumbled up cake left overs.
This was for friend's engagement cake, they have property and love cows. The colours were to fit in with their theme. I decided to do round top and square base, just for something different, not sure it had as big of an effect as I was looking for, but hey it was fun to do. I made the cows from fondant a week in advance and they dried beautifully. This cake also had to travel, just not by plane this time lol, only by car, they loved it.
This was for my husband's b'day. The bottles and ice were toffee and placed into a wooden barrell which was choc mud cake covered with fondant planks, if that makes sense lol.
This was for my Nephew's 1st b'day was nearly as big as him lol.
This cake was for a friend's 40th and had to travel by plane to reach its destinations and it did well and got there safely lol. I spray painted it to get the colour and effect I wanred.

Horse mad birthday girl wanted a 3D horse cake for her birthday, but I figured it had to travel so instead of it standing up I would do more of a comical horse lying down instead, and copied her horses colours. She loved it and totally didn't want to cut it lol lol.
Totally edible the whole cake inspired by vampires and ghouls, with some research I decided to make this. It was spray painted to get the true red colour. The stake, yellow balls and black decorations are fondant.
