Squidward
When I was asked for a "Squidward" cake, I realized I'd have to get creative to find a way to make the cake cheerful & bright despite the character's characters.... LOL... I had some help from my sister in getting this done! We incorporated fondant/gum paste figures to add to Squidward's fun!

Jagermeister Bottle
I was asked to make a "Jagermeister" cake for a bar tender, friend of a friend of a friend. I hadn't a clue as to what a "Jagermeister" was, and THAT got a laugh! Anyway, a local restaurant offered to let me take a photo, which made making this cake easier. So... thanks for my friends, THIS friend of a friend of a friend got his birthday cake! And for the record, it is totally alcohol-free!

Baby Shower Toybox Cake
A young student of mine (no, I'm not a cake decorating instructor! LOL) asked me to help her with a baby shower need. I provided the cake. It was fun! I wish I had had more time to work on the building blocks, but otherwise, I enjoyed the outcome. The cake was two 12x18 cakes, with buttercream under fondant. The bear, basketball, and football were all rice cereal treats covered in fondant; everything else was fondant or sugarpaste. I created the wood texture by rolling grooves in the toybox, and painting the toybox with a mix of vanilla and brown gel color "stain."

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
A friend of mine asked if I could do a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake... so I jumped in & gave it my best shot! It was quite fun! The "head", slide, and hands were formed from rice krispie treats covered in buttercream & fondant, but the rest is buttercream covered. It was quite fun!

Pink Princess Castle Cake
A special princess (my granddaughter) was having a "princess birthday party," so I decided I'd turn my hand to try a princess castle. I didn't have time to order one of the kits that I'd found online, so I made the turrets from cardboard tubes & covered them in fondant. The turret tower tops were of gumpaste/fondant mix. It was a fun cake to make, and even more fun to watch her reaction!

Super Mario For A Super Birthday Boy!
My Grandson wanted a Super Mario cake for his birthday, and since I had just started experimenting with Fondant, I went looking. This cake emulates one that I had seen online, although I knew I couldn't replicate her expertise with my novice level of experience, I was willing to give it all I had. With the helping hands of a fun-loving sister and a friend, we were able to pull off a hit for a special little guy's sixth birthday party!

Tiddly Winks Theme
A very special young lady wished for a baby shower cake, and had no theme except the "Tiddly Winks" Bedding set from Sears that she was purchasing for her new addition. The colors and butterflies, ladybugs, and flowers were "borrowed" from the bedding set photos I found. The baby bottom & feet were not my original idea; I had seen a wonderful cake on Cake Central that I thought was absolutely adorable, and couldn't wait to try my hand at this. This was one of my earliest fondant cakes, and it was truly much easier than I had expected!

The Big Tractor Cake!
This big 3-D cake was made for a 40th birthday cake for a wonderful family member. It was designed to feed 150 people. I got a call that evening, and he had allowed the base cake to be served, but wanted to keep the tractor cake "for show!" What a compliment! It was a fun AND challenging cake for an amateur like myself!
