3D Ape
This cake is split into two cakes - one for the body (2 8" rounds and a 6" round carved) and one for the head (wilton soccer ball mold and cupcake on top for shape). The arms, soda can and front part of the face were rice krispie treats covered in fondant. The legs, hands and feet are solid fondant. Five inner supports held up the head so it wouldn't crush the base cake. It weighed about 15lbs.

Motorcycle Groom's Cake
This cake was 4" tall and a cut-out of a sheet cake. The details are rolled fondant, hand cut to build up the image of the motorcycle. From there, black buttercream details were added. This was a challenge because mechanical items are hard to get the proportions correct as well as the perspective as this is not a side profile of the bike.

Tropical Birthday Cake
This cake is a three tiered tropical themed cake iced in pink buttercream with fondant flowers cascading down the sides. It also has a hand made fondant flamingo topper. Each cake is a different flavor - chocolate with raspberry filling, red velvet with cream cheese filling, and white cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling. This cake took about six hours to bake, assemble and decorate and was a lot of fun!

3D Frog Cake
This fun Froggie stood about 10" tall and was filled with white cake and Vanilla Bavarian cream! He was crumb coated in Buttercream and wrapped in Duff's lovely tasting ready to use green fondant. The body shape was the shape of a gumdrop, to get more servings out of it (rather than a flat frog). I saw a kid's trash can at Target that looked like a frog and that's what gave me this idea to sculpt it this way.

Cherry Blossom Buttercream Cake Display
This wedding cake was a Display Cake on a dessert table (all the other desserts were edible)... it is four tiers, iced in buttercream and each layer wrapped in a different ribbon and two are wrapped in rhinestones. The couple had 200 guests who enjoyed a piece of sheet cake, while this cake became the back drop for many family photos! Isn't it great when it can stay on display all night?!

Mardi Gras Sweet 16
This was for a fabulous La Quinceanera / Sweet 16 Mardi Gras party. The cakes were displayed on six elevated plates, the largest cake was 14" and three layers inside. There were also two 10" cakes and three 6" ones. There were two sheet cakes that were served after the dinner and 200 cupcakes, covered in a bold pink buttercream and topped with a handmade fondant mardi gras mask.

Thanksgiving Cornucopia Cake
I learned how to spell cornucopia after making this cake for a friend's Thanksgiving dinner. The cake was two 8" cakes, filled with chocolate mousse and raspberry mousse. The top cake was cut at a 45' angle and flipped upside down for the tail back. Then it was covered in chocolate buttercream in a basketweave pattern. Getting the fruit to 'fall out' of the cornucopia was my biggest challenge, so I decided to use cupcakes so people could take one easily. Some of them are covered in fondant to resemble an apple, orange or pumpkin, the others were just decorated with chocolate buttercream and a fondant flower. The back of the cornucopia was covered in fondant leaves and flowers and a dash of edible copper glitter. This helped spice up the back as it was a centerpiece cake and needed to have something fun to look at on the back too.

The "best In Show' Cake
This cake was featured in the Best in Show winner circle at the Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. The event was the annual AdFed MN advertising award show where agencies in Minnesota compete for the best tv commercial, digital media placement, branding, print ad, etc. Each year, one agency is named 'Best in Show' for winning Gold as well as highest honor out of the thousands of judged entries. The cake was an echo of the invitation and branding already in place for the event and was given to the agency that won, Fallon Worldwide in Minneapolis.

Green Leaf Cake
This two tiered cake was created for a celebration of a family member receiving their Green Card. It is covered in green Buttercream (using the Wilton moss color) and trimmed in chocolate Buttercream. The leaves were made from fondant and detailed with a toothpick. The top tier is a 6" tuxedo cake and the bottom, an 8" tuxedo cake.

3D John Deere Tractor Cake
3D John Deere Tractor Cake, included 6 layers of chocolate cake (in the cab) and buttercream icing as filling. The body was covered in fondant and detail work lay over it. The candles were wrapped in fondant and acted as the 'exhaust pipes'. The wheels were molded rice crispy bars (using different size prep bowls) and then covered in fondant. This was my first attempt at covering a cake in fondant as well as making one 3D. It weighted about 12 pounds and it was a challenge to bring it to the party!
