Wild Turkey Whiskey Bottle Cake
The crate is cake as well as the whiskey bottle. The packing in the crate is shredded fondant. The only thing not edible is the label. I wanted to keep the label looking realistic and knew I couldn't hand paint that turkey!? This was the first of it's kind and a real challenge but fun and worth the hard work!

"savannah" Cake
Made for my daughter's 14th birthday. I used my Cricut Machine to make the scroll designs. It's definitley going to be trial & error but this was just the first time. They didn't end up on the cake straight but once they were on it was too late to move them as the black stains once it touches the cake. I trimmed them out in black royal icing and attached silver dragee's

Just For Fun
This was just for fun using my Cricut Cake machine. No special occasion, just playing around one Saturday. I used the brown icing sheets from Cricut, which suck, but had recieved a ton of them at Christmas, for the twigs. The flowers were made with fondant. It was just an extra cake I had when I changed the design of a cake order, so I could just play around and have fun with this one. It's still one of my favorites. Simple & elegant.

Ooh La La
This was a sweet 16 cake. Mom wanted the colors of Purple, Black & Silver. Chose the city scene from the Cricut Cake machine and the crown on top also. I hand cut the eiffle tower & just added it to the city scene. The fleur di lis design is also cut using the Cricut Cake machine. The top tier is made to look like a hat box. The lid to the hat box is cardboard covered in fondant with fondant tissue paper peeking out.

Black & White Sweet Sixteen Cake
My daughter picked this out from some ideas online and I customized it. The 3 tiers were white almond cake w/ vanilla buttercream followed by cocount cake with coconut buttercream and chocolate mocha cake with dark chocolate ganache filling. The flowers were all made with fondant and 'glued' on with royal icing.

Topsy Turvy 3-Tiered Birthday Cake
I was trying to keep the size smaller so I only used an 8", 6" and a tiny little 4" tin for the top and it turned out fine. I used my Cricut Cake Machine to cut out the scroll designs on the middle cake. "6" was made with gum paste and hand painted with gel food color.

Texas A&m Football Helmet Cake
I made this cake using (2) 8" rounds plus an oven proof bowl with a small amount of batter to get the nice dome shape. After torting & filling w/ buttercream I froze for about half an hour before shaping the cake. I started by angling in at the bottom all the way around. Next I cut the shape of the helmet's opening while looking at a real helmet for depth, width, etc. Once it took shape I re-coated in buttercream. I applied black fondant just around the opening first. Next I placed my maroom fondant over the entire cake and cut away the excess around the black opening. it took so much gel coloring to get the right shade of maroon that it changed the texture & consistency of my fondant, which created problems in the back with tearing, pulling apart, etc. If this had been for a real client (& not my husband) I would have had to take the fondant off and start over!! As it was, I just patched it with more fondant and used crisco to blend & smooth. I cut the letters using a Texas A&M logo I had printed off the computer. For the face mask I used gum paste and rolled out long ropes. I placed them over a crisco can (on it's side) and used a paint brush w/ water to adhere each piece. I even put my husband's high school number on the back..mostly to cover the mishaps with the fondant! All in all, it wasn't that hard and was my first attempt at making a helmet cake. My husband & kids LOVED it!

High School Reunion/birthday Cake
This was a combination cake celebrating a couples 53rd high school reunion and the husbands 73rd birthday. The pennant is made with gum paste and the graduation cap is a small round cake with a fondant covered top using cardboard as the base. The scroll is also gum paste. I used (2) 9X13 cake pans, one with white cake, the other with chocolate cake, then covered in fondant.
