Ruffled Petal Cake
I made this cake a few weeks ago for a beautiful wedding at a vineyard in Connecticut. The couple were in love with a cake by Cinderellas Cakes they saw on a blog. My cake is very similar, but I made the ruffles a little thinner to look somewhat like flower petals. Kind of combining the ruffle cake with the flower petal cakes that are popular right now. Very happy with the result!

Lace Applique Wedding Cake
I made this cake as a display for a photo shoot I was invited to participate in for a national bridal gown company! An event planner I work with occasionally was contacted to help style the shoot and she, in turn, invited me. This cake was for a "story" that included lace bridesmaid dresses... I went with the lace theme, and not having seen the bridal gowns, came up with a cake that I thought would be fitting. I made a custom lace mold for the appliques and hand cut each piece! Thanks for looking :)

Clematis Cupcake Trellis!
My husband and I custom built this trellis-cupcake stand for a friend's baby shower. Each cupcake was adorned with a gumpaste purple clematis flower, hand-made by me... all 252 petals! It was a labor of love, but well worth it, because I think it turned out great! Guests at the shower didn't even realize, right away, that this was a cupcake display and not just decoration!

Moroccan Themed (Baby Shower) Cake
I made this cake for a Moroccan themed baby shower... but I think it would be a fun cake for almost any other occasion as well! I love the fun, vibrant color palette, and the gold detail. I had so much fun designing and working on this cake, and I love that my client chose a theme/design that didn't scream "baby shower." The flowers are gumpaste, fantasy flowers. I embossed the petals (cut with my peony cutters) with a "Moroccan-esque" stamp for some texture. They are dusted with luster dust, and the edges painted with gold dust.

Succulent Bridal Shower Cake
I made this cake for a friend who ordered it for her sister's bridal shower. I had been wanted to try my hand at gumpaste succulents for a while now and it just so happens that my friend was using them as decor for the shower. So of course I design the cake around it! I made a large succulent and 2 smaller ones and I felt that the rest of the cake should be simple and clean so the sugar succulents would remain the focus. the 8" and 6" rounds are just adorned with layered ribbon at the base.

Pink & Purple Anemones Cake
I made this cake for my daughter's 8th grade graduation party. She wanted something with summer-y or spring-y colors, so we didn't do a traditional "graduation" cake (we'll save that for when she graduates high school!). With all of the party planning I was short on time, so I re-purposed some anemones I had left over from another project. I dusted them with bright pink and a touch of purple, then painted the edges and centers silver. I started with the flowers and designed the cake around that! The cake is tiny 8"-6"-4" rounds :)

Motorcycle Cake
Man, where do I start with this cake?! This 3D motorcycle was requested by a super fun couple for their wedding cake! It was by far my biggest and most challenging cake (3' long wheel to wheel by about 1.5' to the top of the seat)... I was very upfront about this being a new challenge for me but they went with it! While they were absolutely thrilled with the result, this is the first and last motorcycle cake I will ever make, lol! I'm pretty happy with it, but because I ran in to many unexpected problems with it's construction, I was rushing at the end and it is not as neat as the standards I hold myself to. If I could work on it for a month, I might have been add all of the details I wanted but, I finished, and I survived! The engine part is cake, the seat part is rice crispy treats, and the wheels are a combination of foam and rice crispy treats... the handle bars and struts are PVC...

House Of Anubis Cake
This is one of several cakes I made for a friend over the past couple of weeks... The theme was "House of Anubis", her daughter's favorite TV show... I had no idea what it was and there wasn't a lot available for inspiration, but I'm happy with what I came up with and she loved it! The book is rice cereal treat and modelling chocolate, the pendant is gumpaste :)

Peacock Color Scheme Cake & Cupcakes
I was asked to make a simple 6" cake with cupcakes to match. The brides color palette was "peacock" colors, so requested simple flowers that were blue, purple and green. The flowers are fondant/gumpaste mix, the cake and cupcakes are SMBC finish. These are just a few of the many cupcakes I made, but they wanted to supply their own cupcake tower, so i don't have an assembled picture :(

Blush & Ruffles
I was invited to participate in an intimate bridal show last weekend. The event planner designed a beautiful dessert table to feature my display cake. Going with her suggestion of blush pink and ruffles... this is the cake I came up with! I was concerned about the ruffles overwhelming my little cake, but really love the way it turned out! The Broach is gumpaste pearl and silver dragees.

Monster High Themed 6Th Birthday
When I got the request for this cake, I had no idea what Monster High was... but I LOVE the way this cake came out! From the moment I sketched the design, i knew it was going to be fun to make, and it really was. I think this may be one of my favorite all-time cakes! My niece requested the same design (she saw the sketch) for her birthday next weekend, I can't wait to make it again!

Transformers Bumblebee Cake
I got to make a cake for one of my favorite people this week. I made this Transformers cake for my nephew! Bumblebee is his favorite, so naturally that became the theme for his cake. I purchased the figure to put on top (it was going to be one of his gifts anyway), it's covered with fondant and the decorations are fondant. The design is my twist on a compilation of different cakes I've seen. The top is supposed to look like torn metal, as the figure has just ripped through the cake! I airbrushed black fondant with pearl spray to get the metal effect. The black stars are also covered with black disco dust to jazz it up. I really love how this came out!

Pretty Pink Christening Cake
I made this cake for a Christening this past Sunday. My client requested a pretty and feminine cake for her daughter, this is what I came up with. It is fondant covered with gumpaste decorations. The cross is hand made out of gumpaste and painted with super pearl. The ribbon border and bows are fondant and all of the blossoms are gumpaste. The bottom tier is embossed with a quilted pattern and has small, white sugar pearls and white gumpaste blossoms at the cross points. I am thrilled with how this cake came out!

Baby Monser 2Nd Birthday
I wasn't sure if I wanted to share this cake, but it got a great response at the party so I guess I'll go ahead! I made this cake for my son's 2nd birthday party over the weekend. I wasn't going to do an elaborate cake, but I saw a cute little figurine that I thought would make a really great cake! My son is into dragons and monsters so it was totally appropriate! It's not quite what I had envisioned, but my son and our guests loved it! It was my first attempted at a 3D sculpted cake, and my first try with my airbrush! the body is cake (cookies & cream), the head, limbs and tail are rice cereal treats! Thanks for looking!
