Made for a very special girl who had never had a proper birthday cake. She loves animals - particularly dogs, so this was what I came up with. Used royal icing for the fur.
This cake was made for a little girl who really had no idea what she wanted - but knew she loved rainbows, hearts and butterflies. Lemon cake with raspberry lemon buttercream filling.
Tintin hits the movies and in comes the order. This was a bit of work but fun to make.
Ninjago seems to be the big lego rage at the moment - this little fella is called Kai apparently. Cake is good old chocolate with chocolate ganache.
Pumpkin with push action LED lights used to light up the eyes. Pumpkin is a red velvet cake with raspberry cream cheese icing. Base is chocolate with ganache. Kids loved it.
This cake was created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my son's creche. The creche has a beautiful garden and the children love the water feature and sandpit - which explains the minature waterfall! Made for the children really and they loved it.
Not my cleanest work because it was for my own son and done, of course, at the last minute. The track is real Thomas track with a battery powered train going through the tunnel and around.
The client's daughter really wanted a "cat" cake. I didn't realise she meant "just like her cat", until it was too late to back out! Came together quite well in the end. Little girl loved it!
Found an LED light to pop in the front which looked great.
Quite a large cake in the end, almost the size of the helmet it was modelled on. All chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, covered in fondant. My first attempt at something like this, so a little rough, but loved by the birthday boy.
Fairytale Caste for a 6 year old girl's birthday. Based on a Debbie Brown design - just taking it a bit further! Was wilting a little in the humidity but came together well. Can't really see in photo but had a lot of edible sparkle but made it just a bit more magical.
Made for the children at our friend's New Year party. Tried to come up with something suitable! All fondant covering a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. Was a big hit.
Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. Royal icing lava, toffee explosions and fondant dinosaurs.
I got this idea from a wonderful cake on this site and just expanded it a little. The birthday boy really wanted an Orca and for the penguins to be doing things. All fondant, except ice cream cone with royal icing for tree and the fishing rod.
Fondant covered cake with royal icing paint, made for my painting class at the end of term.
