Found these curled candy canes at Michael's and thought they would make cute toppers on cupcakes.
A birthday cake for my daughters co-worker. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite cake flavor is strawberry, The flowers are purple and white ( even though the flowers look blue) and the cake was strawberry with alternating filling layers of BC, strawberry preserves and strawberry mousse. For a babies 1st BD. My friend asked for May/Spring theme cupcakes. So I thought it would be cute to do pinwheels and flowers made out of fondant to go along with the invitation and party goods. They were fun to make. Oh the wrappers were a pain, could not get them to stick to the cupcake very well.

Made these last Sept. My first attempt with fondant and bows, was very nervous. They were a surprise for my daughters BD. I could not believe how long it took me to make the bows and get the small cakes the right size but enjoyed making them. Again many thank you's to the cakers on CC for their inspirations. TFL.
Just a few mini cakes for my daughter and her co-workers. Some of the fondant figures I saw on CC, don't remember who. Sorry the pictures are fuzzy, took them with my cell phone and they did not enlarge well. I'll know better next time. TFL!
I first have to say thank you to dbranum for the inspiration to try to make her her "Minnie Mouse" cake for my GD birthday party. I have only been caking ,as a hobby ,for 5 months and have been awed by the many outstanding cakes seen on CC. My cake is simple, bottom tier is 3 layers, white, chocolate, white with vanilla BC filling. Top tier is 2 layers white and chocolate with vanilla filling. Tiers undercoat is BC and covered with MMF. The hat is hollow and made with fondant as are the ears. The bow unfortunately turned out a little oversized. As they say trial and error, a few mistakes but have learned a lot. Loved doing this for my GD and the family loved it. TFL
